EPPlus 8 and later

The LicenseNotSetException is thrown to indicate that you must configure the license information in EPPlus versions from 8.0 and up.

Commercial organizations/companies

EPPlus 8.0 and later versions require a license key for commercial use. Commercial licenses can be purchased from EPPlus Software or through resellers. If you already have a commercial license, you can find the license key on our website. See the instructions in the link below.

Noncommercial/Personal use

The configuration for noncommercial use in EPPlus 8.0 and later versions differs from previous versions. Note that EPPlus will reserve the tags and comments fields in the workbook for license information when configured for noncommercial/personal use. See the example via the button below.

EPPlus License model

EPPlus was licensed under the LGPL open source license up until version 4. Starting from version 5, released in early 2020, all subsequent versions are licensed under the Polyform Noncommercial 1.0.0 license. EPPlus Software sells commercial licenses that allow usage within commercial organizations/companies.
